The Many Faces Of Evil

Evil is most likely to come at you from the directions in which you least expect it and not from the directions from which you will expect it. After 9-11 the Western countries increased airport security. The terrorists knew that, so they stopped trying to hijack airplanes and started bombing trains and markets.

Same is the case with any other kind of evil.

If you expect evil to come from ego or flesh, it will not come at you through ego or flesh. It could come through spirit, or through logic, or through status, or through wrongful behavior by your priests, or through destructive actions by people whom you hold in high regard.

If you expect evil to come from the government, it will not come at you from the government. It will come at you from private corrupt or tyrannical entities. It will come at you from the mafia, or from Jehovah's Witnesses, or from corrupt networks in law and medicine, or from tyrannical parents, or from abusive jerks on the Net.

If you expect evil to come from the corporate system, it will not come at you from the corporate system. It will come at you from your Native American husband, or a pimp-type or gangster-type scoundrel, or any one of many parasitical types who are not affiliated with the system.

If you expect evil to come from sociopaths or narcissists, it will not come at you from sociopaths or narcissists. It will come at you from perfectly normal people doing all sorts of terrible things.

If you expect evil to come from patriarchy, it will not come at you from patriarchy. It will come at you from other women who are just as capable of horrendous behavior as any men.

This is a lesson that I had to learn the hard way. I used to have unconditional admiration for men who came from bad backgrounds and made good. However after two such men viciously savaged me on the Internet for extended periods of time I changed my view on the subject. I used to believe that women were better than men. Dealing with American feminists cured me of that error. I did not replace either stance with its opposite. I replaced them with a rational stance: That anything human is capable of being good or bad.

I do not believe that there is a single pathway for evil. Satan will have many tricks up his sleeve, as would any number of people. I consider it foolishness to believe that there is a single human source of evil. There will be many ways by which evil can reach you. And, once again, it is most likely come at you from the direction in which you do not expect.
