Religion, Science and Magick

Religion, science and magic are three of the most powerful forces shaping life in the Western civilization. They operate in the form of a triple helix.

Religion forbids magickal activity, resulting in there being no evidence for the supernatural. As the evidence for the supernatural is lost, so is the evidence for God. So science comes in offering materialistic explanations for everything.

As religion loses influence to science, also lost are the religious prohibitions on magickal activity. This results in magick coming back. The result is growing influence for the supernatural, leading many to come back to religion.

Then religion forbids magickal activity; and the spiral starts again.
